About The Speakers

Mark Fessenden is Director of Industry Relations for Johnson Controls Inc.  For more than 20 years, Mark has worked in Fire Protection Equipment Manufacturing. His focus has been in the development of new technologies, codes & standards, technical services, and training.  He holds 3 U.S. patents in automatic sprinkler technology. Mark is NICET certified in Automatic Sprinkler System Layout and Special Hazards Suppression Systems.  He is a member of the Society of Fire Protection Engineers, National Fire Sprinkler Association, and American Fire Sprinkler Association, active nationally and locally.  Mark is a member of numerous NFPA Technical Committees and has been a member of the NFPA Technical Committee on Residential Sprinkler Systems (AUT-RSS) since 2005.  Mark has a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology from New England Institute of Technology and an MBA from Corban University.

Douglas White brings over 20 years of professional sales and project management experience within the fire protection industry. Currently the Business Development Manager for Johnson Controls, he is responsible for raising product awareness and driving new system integrations for clients across various market verticals such as commercial, industrial, residential, defence and hospitality, as well as oil and gas. As an avid fire safety advocate, Douglas sits on the FPAA committee and plays a pivotal role in the development of fire suppression standards within Australia and New Zealand markets. Douglas holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) from the University of Technology, Sydney.
